The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Tales of the Jazz Age of F. Fitzgerald

I've seen "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" recently. The film, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett is almost three hours. This is a fantastic film, the themes of life, death and love explored in the context of a man who, years ago. And 'unique and exciting, funny and depressing. I knew of F. Scott Fitzgerald's book has been adapted, I decided it was time I read it. The book has proved a short story that was published in Colliers Magazine in 1921. InIntroduction Fitzgerald reflects its history, which is a quote from Mark Twain to him the idea. This quote might be what can inspire, is entirely consistent with the principle.

"Life would be infinitely happier if we could but at the age of eighty and gradually approach eighteen years born. Mark Twain -

The film is different from the history of Fitzgerald. The title is the name of Benjamin, and the concept of aging back. Benjamin is a man born old. His father was horrified whenfirst saw him in the hospital - about seventy elders with a beard you can really talk. Benjamin's mother did not appear at all in history. And unlike the film, the father comes home and throws. And it does shave, dye their hair and buy toys for you to try to pass as a child. Years pass and their apparent Benjamin is looking young and feeling better with age.

Finally, he attended a party with his father. The brothers look more like father and sonand attracts the attention of young Hildegard, who loves older men. They fall in love and marry. Benjamin took it over from his father, a lot of money and has a son. Unfortunately, young / elderly ago, but has a wife and will fight in the war of the Spaniards in Cuba Things are no better when he comes back and sides, while his wife stays at home.

Search Now twenty years in the hands of the business to his son and wrote at Harvard. Butafter a few years can not continue their studies. If forced to return to his wife disappeared, he went to Italy. Benjamin moved with his son and younger.

This article is a simple one hour. large blocks of time were omitted, and many years have focused on a short story. I like fantasy and fairy tales, but it bothered me the first page. What happened to the woman who gave birth was a cultured man and anything about them? The characters are the otherthe story is never fully developed and not particularly attractive, Benjamin. The love story taking place in the film is not in the book. The relationship between Benjamin and his wife is full of contempt and intolerance. After reading the book, one understands why it has changed for the film. A film needs a hero to all of sympathy. Brad Pitt and discard any damage.

This may not be one of his best, but Fitzgerald is a wonderful writer. And there are threeothers in this collection, which I liked.

"Bernice Bobs Her Hair" is a coming of age story. Bernice is visiting her cousin, Marjorie transforms an awkward and unpopular girl, the prom queen. All goes well until catching the attention of Marjorie's boyfriend.
In "The Jelly Bean" Jim Powell is a bum, but an encounter with a beautiful woman suggests a better life - until the alcohol destroys their dreams.

"Dalyrimple goes wrong, youthe story of a man who returned from war and a hero is torn between working hard and the easy way.
